The next IBT Cohort will be in 2024. Below you will find our 2023 information, which will be similar for the IBT Course in 2024. We have also included some frequently asked questions.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  1. What is an IBT?
An International Behavior Therapist® (IBT) is a person who is trained in providing effective, ethical and high quality behavior analytic services to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Developmental or other disabilities, and those who require additional support.
  2. What are the requirements to enroll in the course?
The IBAO requires that all IBT applicants have completed at least a high school (or regional equivalent). Learn more at theibao.com.
  3. Who should become an IBT?
Anyone working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Developmental or other disabilities, and those who require additional support would benefit from learning more about behavior analysis. This includes therapists, teachers, daycare providers, and nannies.
  4. Can an IBT practice independently?
No, an IBT must practice under supervision of an IBA. Find Your Balance can provide this supervision, and we highly encourage you to continue with your IBA or have at least one person at your organization continue with the IBA so that you have an on-site supervisor who is able to practice independently. Our next IBA Course Cohort should open soon!
  5. Will I pass the IBT exam if I take this class?
That is the goal! While we cannot guarantee that you will pass, we will provide you all the tools you need to pass, and believe that if you actively participate and study the material, you will become an IBT and we will support you in reaching that goal!
  6. Why are there live classes? Can’t I just do it all online on my own?
We believe that there is tremendous value in engaging with the materials in multiple ways including watching videos, conversations, activities, and hands-on practice opportunities. We believe the live sessions are an important part of increasing your successful acquisition of the knowledge and skills needed to become a successful international behavior therapist.
  7. How do I pay for the course?
Once you are enrolled, you will receive an invoice via QuickBooks Online for the course, and for the add-ons if you elect the Supervised Experience or All Inclusive Package.
